At Offshore Law Center, we specialise in helping our clients to obtain permanent residency and/or second citizenship in a number of attractive offshore jurisdictions, including St. Kitts & Nevis, Vanuatu, Dominica, and Panama.

We offer clear guidance and support with your migration, whatever your reasons and objectives may be. Our clients range from high net worth business owners who want a second passport for business/tax optimisation, to families who are simply looking to relocate to a country which has more to offer in terms of lifestyle and travel opportunities.

What we offer

We help our clients obtain second citizenship in the following four countries:

  1. St. Kitts & Nevis
  2. Vanuatu
  3. Dominica
  4. Panama

These jurisdictions have been chosen because they have been identified as the most beneficial, convenient, cost-effective, and timely options for acquiring second citizenship. The first three on the list are ideal for obtaining citizenship by investment. In exchange for a donation to a national economic fund of between USD 100,000 – USD 150,000, they provide rapid and easy citizenship. This makes them some of the most affordable options for acquiring citizenship by investment. In addition, their strong passports, extremely liveable conditions, and tax benefits, make them ideal countries to look to for acquiring dual citizenship.

Benefits of permanent residencies and dual citizenships

There are numerous benefits of obtaining permanent residency and/or second citizenship in certain jurisdictions, including:

Increased mobility

Being a citizen or resident of a second country allows you to not only have free access to that country, but can also give you much greater unrestricted travel ability depending on the strength of the passport and the visa free access it provides. Obtaining permanent residency in a European nation, for example, generally allows complete freedom of movement throughout most other parts of Europe.

Better quality of life

Some countries are simply more liveable and offer higher standards of health care, education, and social security benefits.

Financial and personal safety

Becoming a permanent resident or citizen of certain countries can offer much greater levels of both personal and financial safety. Choosing a peaceful country with a stable economy and political system means you are much safer from violent crime, political upheavals, or economic collapse.

Business opportunities and tax efficiency

Having dual citizenship or a second residency opens up many exciting new business and investment opportunities in the host country and those which are connected to it. Furthermore, most of the countries which we offer migration services for are tax efficient jurisdictions, which means they can be used to minimise your tax burden.

Security

Second citizenship provides the ultimate Plan B in case anything goes horribly wrong in your home country.

Panama is more unique, in that the process is different and we can help our clients to receive either only permanent residency, or permanent residency followed by citizenship.

Panamanian residency programs

Panama has a multitude of fast and convenient routes for acquiring permanent residency and/or citizenship. The government has established various laws and programs which make it possible for foreigners to do this, and these programs are designed to encourage offshore investment and economic activity in Panama.

Our immigration experts provide extremely rapid and efficient processing of all visa and immigration procedures for our clients who wish to immigrate to Panama. Some of the available residency visa programs in Panama include:

Panama Friendly Nations Visa

Panama offers what is known as a ‘Friendly Nations Visa’ to applicants from a list of 40 eligible countries who can also prove some kind of economic activity in Panama. Economic activity can easily be proven by forming a Panamanian company and opening a bank account with a deposit of at least USD 5,000.

It is easy to acquire, and provides a three-year residency permit to begin with. After three years, this permit can be changed to permanent residency status. After two more years, you are eligible to apply for citizenship by naturalisation. This makes this one of the easiest and most cost-effective routes for obtaining a second passport in a total of 5 years.

Panama’s immigration law does not require you to live in Panama full time in order to maintain residency. You only need to visit at least once in every two years to renew your residency.

Panama Self Economic Solvency Visa

This program offers international investors the opportunity to acquire a residency permit in Panama (followed by permanent residency status and thereafter citizenship) through three different investment options:

  1. Time Deposit: establish a term deposit of at least USD 300,000 in a Panama bank with a minimum term period of 3 years.
  2. Real-estate investment: Purchase a Panama real-estate property with a minimum value of USD300,000. The purchase should be made without requiring external financing, and the investor should prove sufficient economic solvency to cover its daily costs.
  3. Combination of the two: The third option is a combination of the above two, with a total minimum of USD 300,000.

Panama Retired or Pensioned Program (Visa Pensionado)

The Panama Retired or Pensioned Program (also known as ‘Visa Pensionado’), allows foreigners to obtain legal residency in Panama under the condition that they are retired or pensioned. There is no minimum age requirement to qualify. The applicant must just be able to prove that they have a lifetime retirement/pension income of USD 1000 per month. This can be reduced to USD 750 per month if the applicant purchases at least USD 100,000 in Panama real estate.

Panama “pensionados” are entitled to numerous discounts and tax exemptions.

Panama Business Investor Visa

This visa is designed for investors who are willing to establish a genuine physical business in Panama. To qualify, the applicant is required to invest a minimum of USD 150,000 in the business and hire at least 3 permanent Panamanian employees.
